How long does a web development project take?

It depends on scope. A single feature: a couple of days. A landing page: about a week. A business site: 1-2 weeks. More advanced web apps and SaaS: 4-8 weeks. Average across all projects is about 2 weeks.

Which projects can be delivered quickly?

A single feature or component on an existing site can be delivered in a couple of days. A complete single landing page with design and animations is delivered in about a week.

Can I see progress during development?

Yes. You get a demo every week and can give continuous feedback. I don't work in a black box. For larger projects we set up a shared staging environment where you can click around yourself.

Do I own the code?

Yes, always. All source code is transferred at final payment. You get access to a GitHub repo with full history. No lock-in, no proprietary plugins, no hosting dependency. You can take the code to any developer.

What if I want to change scope mid-project?

That's fine. Minor changes within the same scope are included. Larger additions get a separate fixed-price quote. I'll tell you if a change risks pushing delivery.

Can you work on an existing site I already have?

Yes. I work both on new projects from scratch and on improving existing sites. Typical work: adding features, switching stack, fixing performance issues, integrating payments or booking.

How is a project priced?

You get a fixed quote after a short call, before we start. It depends on scope: a simple landing page is a small project, a website built to rank and convert is bigger, and a web app with login and a database is a system project. No price list, no hidden fees, and the price doesn't change if scope doesn't change.

No. You get a fixed price before we start. Nothing extra is added unless the scope changes. Hosting is optional and all add-on services are priced separately and clearly in the quote.

Fixed price or hourly - which is better?

For defined web projects I recommend fixed price because you know what you're paying. Hourly fits consulting, code review, or ongoing work without clear scope. Most agencies sell hourly to protect themselves. I sell fixed to protect you.

Can you build just a feature on my existing site?

Yes. A single landing component (hero, CTA, contact field) or a specific feature on your existing site works well and is delivered in a couple of days. A good way to test how I work without committing to a large project.

How does payment work?

50% at project start, 50% at approved launch. Invoice with 30 days payment terms. Smaller jobs can be prepaid on order. Late payment interest per Swedish law.

Do you charge for updates after launch?

Minor fixes within the first week after delivery are free. After that I offer three options: hourly when needed, a Maintenance plan with ongoing hours per month, or Managed with more work per month plus 24/7 monitoring. You get the price in the quote.

How do operations and hosting work?

I offer several operations tiers, from basic hosting with SSL and daily backup, up to Enterprise with SLA 99.9% uptime, a dedicated contact, and quarterly security review. You own the code and are never locked in, but I recommend letting me handle operations so the site stays secure and updated. You get the price per tier in the quote.

Why React instead of WordPress?

Performance, security, and control. WordPress often loads multiple megabytes of JavaScript per page and has a large attack surface via plugins. A modern React site with Vite gives Lighthouse 95-100 from the start, no plugin debt, and full control over every part. WordPress can be right for simple blog sites where an editor updates daily. For modern lead-generating websites React is superior.

What's the difference between a website and a web app?

A website shows information (company, services, contact) and drives leads. A web app has login, database, and business logic (e.g. a booking portal, a CMS, or a SaaS product). A website is a smaller project, a web app is a system project with larger scope. You get a fixed quote for whatever fits you.

Can you build mobile apps?

Accepted Answer

I build responsive web apps (PWAs) that work on all devices and can be installed as apps. For native iOS/Android apps (App Store, Play Store) I recommend partners. PWA is enough for 90% of what clients ask for in the 'mobile app' category.

Can you integrate with my existing CRM, accounting, or CMS?

Yes. Common integrations: HubSpot, Pipedrive, Fortnox, Visma, Stripe, Klarna, Resend, SendGrid, Calendly, Cal.com. More complex integrations are priced as add-on services in the quote. I check first whether an API exists before we start.

Do you offer security review or penetration testing?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I have a background in penetration testing and have built DaemonScan (an automated security scanner with 28 modules). I do both black-box pentests per OWASP and white-box code reviews. Price by quote depending on scope.

What if I'm not satisfied?

Accepted Answer

I don't deliver the invoice until you approve. If we disagree at a milestone delivery, we talk about what needs adjusting. The fixed price applies even if it takes me more time to get it right.

Can you work with a designer I've already hired?

Accepted Answer

Yes. I happily receive Figma files or an existing design and implement it. I also work with several freelance designers if you want one recommended.

What if you get sick or unavailable?

All code lives in your GitHub account from day one. Documentation comes with delivery. I have a network of other developers who can take over if needed. That's one reason I build with common frameworks (React, Django) and not exotic choices: anyone can pick it up.

Do you offer SLA or guarantees?

For Managed (SEK 8,000/mo) and Enterprise (SEK 20,000/mo) SLA 99.5% and 99.9% uptime apply with fixed response times. For one-off projects you get 7 days bug guarantee after launch. For longer guarantees I recommend a support contract.

Do I get source code access during the project?

Yes, from the first commit. You're added as a collaborator on the GitHub repo. You can follow every change, read the code, and if you want, review technical decisions in real time.

Do you work solo or in a team?

Accepted Answer

I work solo on most projects and that's intentional: no overhead, faster delivery, direct contact. When needed I bring in specialists (designer, copywriter) for specific phases. You then pay their cost transparently, no markup added.
